Great for assembling ingredients for a recipe; beating a couple of eggs; making a baked pudding; small leftovers.

I bought these because my 60 year-old vintage custard cups were knocked off the counter and broken during a move. I was heartbroken because they were my mothers oh so long ago. These are great replacements however. They are the same old great Pyrex custard cups from long ago. They're very well-made and I'm really happy to have my new ones although they aren't quite as sentimental. Maybe 60 years from now someone will feel the same way about these as I felt about my originals. I say this with a smile in my heart and on my face.

My mom had these when I was growing up, and I was always looking for something like this in my own kitchen, disappointed that I didn't have any of my own. So for Christmas, I bought three sets of these. One for myself, one for my sister, and a third for my mother, to replace the ones she's broken over the years. We use them mainly for sauces, spreads, and small snacks like nuts. The 6 oz size is just something you'll always find a use for.

They're not exactly the same as the ones she bought 20+ years ago - pretty much the same design, but the glass is a bit thicker, and they're less delicate looking. It seems like they'll be harder to break though, so I'm counting that as a plus.

I can't even begin to describe how handy these Pyrex 10-ounce Custard Cups are to have around the kitchen... I've used these for years as cereal and snack bowls for the kiddos (and me), and they work equally as well as prep bowls when you're cooking. They are extremely durable, and they can handle the microwave and the oven just fine. I just recently purchased another set after the ones I had for years had finally dwindled away and I found that the new ones are made of much thicker glass. I think they'll be even more durable!

If you have kids that are a bit older (so you do not have to worry about glass products) these are essential. They are great for serving portions of pretty much anything -- cereal, fruit, soup, ice cream. These are smaller than the usual cereal or soup bowls, but who eats 16 ounces of soup or pudding? This 10 ounce bowl is good for 6-8 ounces of product. They do well in the microwave and clean up easily --- even melted cheese (which is impossible to clean on ceramic bowls but much easier on glass). They are not fancy but really are tough and practical. They look nice.

I ordered these to replace similar bowls that I had used for years. Somehow they were able to walk around the house and hide themselves until I was down to one bowl. A great trick on their part since apparently no one in this house had any idea how it happened. These are just exactly what I wanted and are the same brand. Hopefully, they will last as long as their predecessors. I love the convenience of serving certain foods in small dishes so that everyone has their own. And, of course, I use them frequently for holding recipe ingredients while cooking or baking. I am so glad to have my supply back. Household has been put on notice: these will NOT be walking anywhere.

While I do make custard in them occasionally, mostly I use these as small bowls for snacks or mis en place when preparing recipes. I have some much older versions of these and the new ones are much thicker than the old ones. I guess this might make them stronger (I haven't dropped one of the new ones yet). Maybe that design change was necessary since I only had 3 of the original 6 of the old ones (haha).

From a a functional standpoint, they are great but the thicker glass makes them look a bit clunky and heavier.
